A full read-through of your manuscript, followed by the completion of a detailed analysis outlining both things I enjoyed and areas of consideration on the following topics (if applicable): 


  • First impressions
  • Plot
  • Genre perspective
  • Characters
  • World building/location
  • General grammar + punctuation
  • Pace 
  • Trigger warnings (if provided, were they appropriate, and if not provided, do you need them)
  • Mature content + "spicy" scenes
  • Author’s requests


*The analysis will NOT include edits, formatting, or in-depth comments on technicalities such as grammar, spelling, etc., (but I will make note if it creates a negative reading experience).

Beta reading FAQ

What genres do you work with?

I will read any piece of fiction, but my preferred genres are romance (all sub-genres and "spice" levels included), fantasy, science fiction, gothic, young adult, and historical fiction (WW2 and the American Civil War are a particular interest).

My absolute favorite sub-genres are romantasy, dark romance, Greek mythology retellings, and fairytale retellings, and really anything smutty, adventurous, and moody.

Is there anything you won't read?

At this time, I am not accepting any non-fiction, graphic novels, screenplays, stageplays, poetry, work that needs English translation, or work using a non-American English dialect.

Do you accept unfinished manuscripts?

Yes! If you are just looking for basic feedback on your unfinished/unedited manuscript, a beta read is a good option. If you are looking for a more in-depth evaluation, I suggest considering a manuscript assessment.

Do you have any content/trigger restrictions?

Only one! I will not read any books that involve the graphic torture and killing of animals.

For all other content warnings, I ask that you disclose any you feel could be found within your work. If you aren't sure, that is totally fine, I just prefer to have it noted beforehand. In your final beta read analysis, I will note any sensitive themes I feel should be added.
